How To Use Neutrogena Cleanser

Eliminating Women's Institute of CLM, "a fact indifferent to equality?

With the expertise and authority vested in me by the commitment and activism that keep on defending the rights of women for more than three decades in different areas (the associations, professional work and political practice), try to convey the importance it has for the advancement of women that are created and maintained as Women's Institutes working structure stable over time.

In Nordic countries like Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland were put in place decades earlier than in Spain, governmental structures at different levels to develop a useful work for equality between women and men. Was a reference to the feminist movement in Spain and also in the early years of democracy for the socialist government.

In these countries, these organisms keep and expand their areas of action despite the gains, and to dismantle the historical discrimination suffered by women and also be vigilant against the responses of the most reactionary happy to stop progress, is a job that requires a lot of interest, a big commitment and of course record by governments and all institutions that promote them.

In Castilla-La Mancha was launched two decades ago (1989) the equality body, creating a Directorate General of Women in the Ministry of Culture, which in 1991 became the Social Welfare Deputy Ministry Range Women for five years.

After one decade, in 2002 approved Law 22 / 2002 / 21 IX creation of the Institute of Women of Castilla la Mancha attached to the Presidency. Was received with great satisfaction, since that meant a qualitative leap in the development of equality policies, assuming the mandate of the Platform for Action adopted at the Fourth World Conference on Women (Beijing 1995), recalling that "the mechanisms institutional set up, often occupy a marginal place in national structures and regional governments, which lack a clear mandate and sufficient staff and resources, and support the country's political leaders. " And recommends several measures, including: "create or strengthen national machineries and other governmental bodies and ensure that responsibility for issues related to the advancement of women is vested in the government's highest possible "

During these twenty years, Castilla-La Mancha on several occasions been a reference to Spain, and in recent years to European Union countries, for the bold gamble of his actions and the progress of women in our region.

Currently, the structure of the Institute for Women has allowed equality policies driven, are being implemented in various Departments: Design commitment for action in all areas of government (roadmap) Equality Bill, Promoting Gender Studies at the University; budget from a gender equality plan for employees and public employees; School of Thought feminist, among others.

After learning that the recent restructuring of the Regional Government because of the economic crisis, includes the elimination of the Women's Institute, which is a Directorate General within a sectoral Ministry (Equality and Youth Employment) I find that such change is not saving money, because it maintains the same number of policy makers (The Director General and five provincial representatives).

Again I say that in my years of political responsibility as the first Director General of Women, Deputy Minister of Women and Member in the Regional Courts, I have always had the commitment, encouragement and complicity of the senior the Government of Castilla-La Mancha to develop a task that is complex and not always well understood by some sectors of our society.

why I believe strongly that the Institute for Women was created with the conviction of his need, inter alia, to consolidate progress and achieve new progress more quickly for women in our region.

is precisely why, at this time, coinciding with many Castilian-La Mancha, I have feelings of sadness and I get some questions that I find convincing answers.
If there is little economic downturn, why this throwback to the beginning of actual work in making equality policies in Castile-La Mancha in the first community to eliminate this structure?

Do you really think someone will have the same effectiveness in the continuity of work for equality between men and women a DG located in a counseling when social conditions changed?
If it steadfastly defends what sense was then committed to the creation of the Institute?

I can not believe that the decision was motivated by a political gesture toward the conservative electorate as we know, been demanding the abolition of the Ministry of Gender, ignoring and trying to dismiss a Ministry which is a great achievement in the struggle of women .

Since the regional government must approve a bill to repeal the Act which established the Institute for Women, I wonder what is still time to rectify?

Aragonés Charo Tapia. 1 st Director Women's General (1989-91) Deputy Minister of Women (1991-95).
