INTERVIEW / Gary Daher By: Oscar Gutierrez Peña *
In one of those, life is neither more nor less than a trip. We come from the mystery and to him we return, enriched, perhaps, for this short time on Earth that we call 'life'.
Well, of all possible trips, apparently there is a particularly important: the inner journey, that journey is one in which we could reach the highest knowledge: "knowledge of ourselves. " Gary
Daher, multifaceted writer (was solved solvency challenges posed by poetry, novels and essays), recently presented his book number fourteen, a poetry book with the suggestive title Narciso Travel (Plural Publishing, 2009).
It describes (or at least trying to) the narrative in the only way possible, ie, through poetry, which many intuit and few encourage us to perform: a systematic, deep immersion in bold depths of our souls, at the risk of meeting there with God or the devil (which, for that matter, are just two eyes the same look).
Lying in my bed, walked intrigued by this site and suddenly came across a light sentence: "... and the sky is born by all parties." That was decided by all. I had to talk with the author. And it was.
- What is Travel Narciso?
- is a book of poetry. Built as it is with poetry, not restricted to the unit which of course has every one of these, but trying to build a universe that actually is a journey through the inner world.
- We are all like Narcissus, that is, we all love ourselves or, worse, the image of what we believe to be?
- Yes Narciso we are all, and if we wake ourselves die in love, even knowing that "ourselves" is a corrupt and crazy people screaming which will perhaps beyond physical death.
- How do you think you that we awaken from this stupid illusion?
- Awareness is the daughter of the night. And the night, using the perceptions of Jaime Saenz, in this case is like the space of the body. All the obstacles in the body, which are the obstacles of life, summon the night, who lives in the psychological space of the body.
But the obstacles do not exist to reduce or overwhelm us. If you realize the true reality, then realizes the night, but not all perceive.
However, discovering the reality of the night in us is born the need for light, that these difficulties are and should be taken as challenges that serve to grow. These impediments everyday
then become true trampolines that lead to new man, rebellious man, real man who sleeps deeply within us.
man must wake up and rise to become a useful tool for the Self, which is at its best when it receives awareness. Trivial thing and not easy ...
- Can the poetry reveal the 'ultimate truths' of life?
- Yes, poetry is the language of transcendence. When we say a poem is something moving inside. And even without knowing what moves we are touched by something higher than we usually do not define. And though the poets are blind, will make messengers, mediums, able to speak without speaking the unspeakable.
There are books of all kinds and expendable foundational, essential and trivial. As for me, I know Narciso Travel belongs to the first category, because: "Only then / suddenly / everything changes / the world is yours / you happy / -As if anyone could decipher that word / and the sky is born everywhere.
